Bangued, Abra. Barangay Captain Atermio “Billy Boy” Donato, Jr. was ambushed yesterday in Langiden, Abra.
Donato was with her wife and two children during the incident. The victim sustained gunshot wounds in the arm and was rushed to the hospital.
The victim is now recuperating. There’s still no suspects identified.

Ania ngarud ti maala da no mapatay da ni Billy Boy? Bassit laeng ti botos ti Langiden if you compare to the total votes of the whole province. It could not be a deciding vote for the congressional and gubernatorial seats. The only possible beneficiary is the victim’s political party itself because majority sympathy goes to them if the ambush was successful. This scares further the majority voters to vote the suspect/s candidates for fear of having scary municipal officials. It’s not a good tactic for besides creating a hostile environment in the municipality it is also bad impression to our Comelec and PNP/Military’s campaign for honest and peaceful election not to mention the lawsuit and annoying conscience that haunts them for the rest of their lives. I demand a thorough investigation in order to determine its veracity and whoever found responsible will be dealt with accordingly. This is a bad precedence if investigation fails to pinpoint the real culprits and their handlers hence, Comelec should also join the investigation to ensure its impartiality because their integrity is also at stake.

So whoever wins, there’s still a slim chance for these to magnify and my only wish for now is justice for all on this most recent painful embarrassing event that in my poor opinion, solves nothing.
