DOJ issued subpoena against Bangued Mayor’s wife

Atty Brix Bachiller (left), was seriously wounded in an attempt to his life. He filed a case against Mila Valera (right) at the DOJ.

Atty Brix Bachiller (left), was seriously wounded in an attempt to his life. He filed a case against Mila Valera (right) at the DOJ.

Bangued, Abra – Mila Valera, the influential wife of Bangued Mayor Dominic Valera and three of her body guards had been subpoenaed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

This is in connection to the attempted murder of Sangunian Bayan Member Atty Allen ‘Brix” Bachiller about five months ago.

According to abrenian.com sources, the case was finally filed three weeks ago after so much delays. The source has alleged that Former Abra PNP Chief Antonio Bartolome tried to rail road the case by not submitting the results of investigations on time.

Probably in an another attempt to finish off or in retaliation for the filing of case at the DOJ, two would be assassins riding in tandem attacked Bachiller’s house a week ago. No one was hurt in the incident but the gunmen left their motorcycle and guns in haste. One of the gunmen was reported been arrested.

Mila Valera, also a former Bangued Vice-Mayor, is a permanent fixture at the Munisipyo and very much active in the affairs of Bangued.

Mayor Dominic Valera, according to our sources, was not included in the case.

Atty. Bachiller was the only true opposition who was elected during the May 2016 Elections. The Valeras are now the dominant political family in Abra.

The DOJ has summoned Valera and company on January 5, 2017. (abrenian.com)

  8. Money is the root of all evils. Judges are bought, police are bought, votes are bought leading to infinite corruptions ,criminality, n poverty. Pres Digong focus its bloody war against these evils specially on drugs with the continued support of the majority Pilipino although we r a catholic country. It’s believed that such campaign will be felt in Abra, hopefully one on the case of Atty/sang bayan Bachiller.

    • A mayor who calked himself as sakuting is postibg in his fb that he is close to digong n bong go what is the use of ur closeness to them if he can not whisper the real truth here in abra. I heard from his close allies n friends who help him in in his first run as mayor that it is indeed true that he is close to malacanang obly for his personal ibterest. Seems true if until now digong does not know the truth behind the killings here in abra.

  9. Digong cannot do it by himself especially in Abra ,the culture of violence that the politician in flick to the minds of the people that makes the majority do not say anything .This new era of Abra leaders has a lot of money to spend and buy anything that they want starting from justice down to kepyas .we are all imprisoned with poverty which their grand grand bloodlines has promoted ever since,,.i just wondering how on earth can we all change about it,,,do we have the teeth and unity against it !!!! if i am Digong i will start to scrap the whole domination including the coins to a new Filipino currency , theirs a lot of hidden money in their closets ,if you work in banking you can do the math how much money flowing in our banks in Bangued it will amazed you

As i talked to some pnp officers occupying chief they are pressured to produce more surrenderees later they are rewuired to acvount them all either by arrrest or killed in action. Dome of them prefered to be relieved than to produce killed in action. I told them be careful of their war on drugs bec they might be investigated in my office after dogongs term as sen trillanes said that they cnt be protected.

  33. “Domestic violence is a burden on numerous sectors of the social system and quietly, yet dramatically, affects the development of a nation and the province in particular… batterers cost local government fortunes in terms of law enforcement, lost of hope, future and hampering the progress of local society by enforcing their self to rule from generation to generation of their clan. Force, intimidation and violence are deployed to weed out anybody that impede their political ambitions. This problem is not only widely dispersed geographically in Abra and Bangued in particular, but its incidence is also extensive, making it a typical and accepted behavior. Domestic violence is widespread, deeply ingrained and has serious impacts on societies health and well-being. Its continued existence is morally indefensible. Its cost to individuals enormous lost. Yet no other major problem of public issue has been so widely ignored and so little understood. That is why we are called the; “Killing fields of the North” The picture of the lady above (if she is ever a human) simply does not understand the logical implications of wrongdoing at the end of the day. So much politicians has passed by in Abra and none of them has stand when it is time to go, see the Paredes, Barbero, Seares, Valera, one of them has become a pauper that bringing him to his grave has been a luxury to the family when he died in an accident, the other ended up in jail. Bottomline, there is always a day of reckoning when God will tell you to stop and that day will be the bitterest day of your life. Hello!!!!! Mila V.

    • Abrenians should appreciate that criminality drastically went down in our beloved Abra and the economy is the fastest growing in the whole of Cordilliera in the 3rd quarter under the newly elected abra officials as noted by Banks in Bangued. And for the 1st time we have a Governor who is rated as one of the most popular, powerful and most beautiful in cordilliera
not bad for 6 months in the office

  50. 91, livelihood programs that might give hopes to our poor farmers – planting cash plants union n garlic instead of virginia tobacco where RA 7171 tax is only abused by greedy officials. According to our sec of agriculture, big companies will buy directly from the farmers these spices to prevent greedy hoarding. A financial n technical supports from the prov. government is needed to make this program a success.
Big tires factories are also planning to put up factories in the country. Abra is mentioned as one of the potential sources of raw materials because of our vast denuded mountains n good weather suitable for rubber trees. Again technical n govt. funds are needed here n hopefully be provided.

    Posted by TAGAMASID | January 14, 2017, 4:45 am
    • Rubber plantation to be burned only by individuals with crab mentality nevertheless karma for the farmer whose olantation was burned by his constituebts who wwere grabbed of their lands for him to convert to rubber plantation. Abra is a deadlock province wherein we dnt have enough land to till inorder to be sifficient in what we plant, other province are known for their local product, isabela for rice and corn, ilocos sur for tobacco, benuguet for vegetable n gold, nueva ecija or central luzon for rice in short they have vast land to be identified with the agricukmltural oroducts but here we dont have abra are only known for violence n corruption. But i agrre with tagamasid we should empower abrenians by providing them livelihood a lot of them want to be succeed but lack of capital u go to the marjet and ask vendors where did get their capital? Surely they got it from 5,6 . We have mining operated illegally by locals lately immigrant from benwuet are engaged in pocket mining provided they will give local politicians if onlt we will taxed them then it will boost our economy.
