Bangued, Abra: A Tineg town mayoralty bet, from an influential political family in Abra, mauled an officer-in-charge (OIC) barangay chairman in front of the provincial capitol here Monday morning.
Pablo Parinas Andres, 46, officer-in-charge of barangay Pulot in Lagayan town was coming out from the capitol building when mayoralty bet Cromwell Luna, son of former Abra Rep. Cecille Seares Luna, approached and threw several punches on his head.
Andres was treated for multiple head injuries at Abra Provincial Hospital but it was not know if he will file charges. Motive of the mauling was not immediately known but sources said it was due to political differences.
It added Luna figured in several gun-related violence in the past, including a reported abduction of three Catholic nuns during the 2010 elections where he ran but lost in Tineg’s mayoralty race. He fled after mauling Andres.

If i were the governor i let my army n pnp escorts to be relieved for doing nothing when a crime committed infront of them. Appropriate charges should be filed against cromel.
