BANGUED, Abra – The reported uncle of the congresswoman of the province and alleged brother-in-law of the municipal mayor of this capital town was arrested by combined police and anti-narcotics agents after having found in his possession illegal drugs and assorted illegal drug paraphernalia during a recent buy bust operation at sitio Linasin, Zone 1 here over the weekend.

Dir. Juvenal Azurin, regional director of the Cordillera office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-CAR) identified the arrested prominent drug personality and businessman as Francisco Briones Acosta alias Boting, 48, businessman and a resident of Barangay Zone 1, Linasen, Bangued, Abra.

Acosta was immediately collared by the operating troops after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a PDEA operative during the sting operation.

Reliable sources revealed Acosta is the uncle of Rep. Maria Jocelyn Valera Bernos and the brother-in-law of Bangued Mayor Dominique Valera, who is the latter’s father.

Aside from the illegal substance, the suspect yielded a roll of aluminum foil and the buy-bust money used during the operation. He is now temporarily detained at the Bangued Municipal Police Station pending the filing of cases for violation of the pertinent provisions of Republic Act No. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

Azurin emphasized that PDEA-CAR together with the PNP will step-up its relentless campaign against illegal drugs in Abra in order to address the number of drug affected barangays in the province and spare the innocent individuals from being induced to the illegal drug trade despite its serious negative effects to the lives of the users among others.

It was learned that the shabu supply in the province is coming from the coastal areas of the Ilocos region considering its proximity to the said areas but law enforcers are now doing their best to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs provincewide in order to make the province drug free in the future.

    • Evol errol n corpus thought me that there are three methods of coordination. Pre post and time on target as napenas claimed in the mamasapano blundered operation

Posted by eric shawn | October 2, 2015, 3:21 am
      • Sir ERIC SHAWN I think I was clear enough of what I was asking for. Sir I was just simply asking if the PDEA who conducted the said operation, has made any coordination with the Bangued PNP, whether it is a pre, post or in time coordination. I think I never ask sir what are the three methods of coordination. But still thank you sir for sharing it unto us. LOVE and RESPECT for all of us.

        Posted by EVOL | October 3, 2015, 1:27 am
        • Evol let me answer u definitely it was coordinated to bangued pnp after the pdea have secured the area bec the subject of the warrant is considred influential in the province bec of the ties of the mayor n the congreswoman. U could not trust the local pnp as rubi said in her conversation to general panot.

Posted by eric shawn | October 7, 2015, 5:14 am
      • You think your salary grade can even close to my salary/income? Not even in your dreams or nightmares. Go back to 3rd grade, then maybe, maybe you can straighten up your basic communication skills (in English).
Isu ngarud nga Ilokano ti kaaduan nga panagitugkelko tapnon “mariingka”.

        • I dnt think so u are good in english as good with ateneo grade school dirty harry. Ur post in ilocano makes who u are n u are not employed bec no one hires u bec of ur poor weitten n oral communication

Posted by eric shawn | October 8, 2015, 4:26 am
        • Evol it is factual n form part of the history that rubi doesnt trust the PNP.

  10. Sir ERIC SHAWN if the information you shared unto us is factual, would you mind to share who or what is your source? But if naming who your source is or sources are, would put your life in danger. Never mind naming them sir. We understand.Love and respect in our hearts.

  12. To eradicate drugs problems, crimes ,corruptions, insurgency, let us sacrifice n help mayor Duterte for president. In Abra, it appears that only the incumbent leaders have the balls to challenge each others. We have choices, Bersaminn for peace or the notorious blood thirsty families. We have 8 months to think n decide for the best with honesty and conscience.

    Posted by TAGAMASID | October 10, 2015, 12:06 pm
    • Tagamasid koliglig serves for almost 9 years but the peace we are longing still hard to achieve now u want us again to suffer injustices corruption impunity for another 9 years. Record shows frm the pnp compared to his predecessor that murder had significantly increased to his term.

Posted by eric shawn | October 10, 2015, 6:02 pm
  13. During his term

Posted by eric shawn | October 10, 2015, 6:27 pm
  14. Sir TAGAMASID with all due respect sir how can you eradicate anomalies in politics especially corruption here in ABRA, if the choices you had given as are both corrupt. Let us all face the truth that politics goes with corruption. Innak man laeng madamag sir anya kadi dagiti proyekto weno uray proposed projects ni apo gobernador para iti linak ken talna iti probinsya tayo nga Abra? Sigun laeng iti obserbasyon ko ah apo ket, nalakam laeng nga may baga nu ada weno awan ni apo gobernador dita kapitolyo. Nu ado iti army ken ada iti lugan iti military dta urwar iti kapitolyo, ibagamon nga ada ni apo gobernador dta kapitolyo. Agswelsweldo ba digita nga army tapno inda pagserbyan ni apo gobernador weno pagserbyan dagiti tattao iti ili nga Abra. I don’t have any bad blood against the Bersamin clan especially Gov. Takit Awan iti innak kamkampyan iti dua nga partido ngem nunto ummay nga panag bubutosan innak ibotos dgjay politiko nga ammok nga ad-ado iti ina naaramid nga pag sayaatan para iti ay-ayatek nga probinsya iti Abra. Love and respect in our hearts.

    • Ive been telling that evol everypost i have that koliglig is being guarded by a platoon of army n pnp despite of the policy that local police n army are not allowed to provide security to local politicians. Despite of lack of personnel of the pnp to deploy in the streets a lot of pnp personnel were rendering security to koliglig . He doesnt care fellow abrenians being killed by his allies n foes as long he and his family are secured. As governor he has vast resources in his disposal to let the province safe as davao city as tagamasid want to replicate in all places of our country so he loves duterte but he cant hate koliglig for being kabaligtaran of his idol.

Posted by eric shawn | October 10, 2015, 11:52 pm
  15. Sir TAGAMASID let me go back on how Eustaquio “Takit” Bersamin got elected as the governor of Abra. Siak ken halos iti amin nga taga Abra ket inbutos da ni apo gobernador tayo ita, gapo iti dua nga simple nga rason. SYMPATHY and HOPE. Dayta iti duwa nga kangrunaan nga rason nu apay nga nag balin nga gobernador ni apo Takit. Sympathy. Simpatya dagiti taga Abra iti pamilya Bersamin iti pana katay ni apo Chito. Hope. Anya ngarud iti pangibasaran iti umili nu ibutos da isuna? Haan met nga applicable iti Sympathy and Hope kanyanan. Nu political track record awan met. Ket anya ngarud ita? Apay nga iti panag rignak ket mas kaykayat dagiti padak nga Tinguians ni apo Joy Bernos kaysa keni ma’am Ruby uray isuna ket maysa nga Tinguian. It is because ma’am Joy Bernos reaches out to us, effortlessly win the heart and trust of the Tinguians. She is not one but it feels like she is one of us.Love and respect in our hearts.

    • Evol im disappointed with ur last post although all bloggers are free to post as long it is not libelous and it is not against the cyber crime law. I dnt promote politicians here im just want to enlighten my co abrenians not to be idiot because those idiot believe what they heard n see in the media. But i respect ur choice of politician whom u know can be a great help of ur tribe.

Posted by eric shawn | October 11, 2015, 2:46 am
      • Sorry to disappoint you sir ERIC SHAWN. I din’t mean to do so. If I am to choose between ma’am Ruby and ma’am Joy, I will go with ma’am Joy. My decision is based on the political performance, approach to the people and the will to help and uplift Abra. I am not endorsing any politician, I am just sharing the reasons and basis why I am voting a politician. We have our own perspectives in life. Your’s and mine may have something in common but for sure it is not totally the same.Same as choosing the politicians to vote during elections. We may both agree in one politician and we may not both agree from the others. Lastly sir thank you for respecting my choice, as I respect yours. One last thing sir, is it okay to ask who are you voting for the congressional and gubernatorial positions and why? Love and respect in our hearts.

        Posted by EVOL | October 12, 2015, 10:57 pm
        • I have my choice evol but i cnt share with you here bec im avid critic of koliglig so that tagamasid n kopitan my hater fans would not conclude why i attack koliglig here because im for his opponent. Im just want to enlighten idiot abrenians why a lot of abrenians have been killed in the streets. As u said we voted him bec of HOPE that our beloved province will be different once vicsyd is gone. Abrenians who believed him have sacrificed. They hanged their uniform and risked their lives to ensure his victory only to be disgusted n disappointed because of his weak leadership and allowed all those killings to happen for him to be saint in the eyes of abrenians. We allow him to corrupt but we expect him that killings would be stopped during his term.

    • I do believe also in ur assessment why takit won in 2007 til 2013 elections bec of sympathy n hope but u forgot to mention the Billit’s role and his police dogs like napiloy
to ensure the victory of the group n the downfall of vicsyd whom most idiot abrenians believed that he has nothing to do with the death of chito despite of the conviction of the court. Turned of event all those pnp allied with billit became a villain in the eyes of koliglig during 2010 election because koliglig can not twist their heads to support joy candidacy for congress. Errol is one of them n other igorot officers.

  16. I respect your opinion n your stand brother EVOL. I also salute you the way you write your thoughts which shows respect n humility, a true gentleman. Back to gov. Takit, I have never been his spokeman nor a beneficiary to alleged ill gotten things.I only had a couple of opportunity to talk with him, one by ‘accident’. In our first encounter, we discussed how we help Abra. He suggested to me to encourage my kids abroad to invest in Abra. We also exchanged ideas on my proposal to enhance the delivery of products of Abra n improve transportation problem in my area n adjacent municipalities. Saanak nga mauma nga mangdaydayaw ti kinatakneng na agramam ma’am Ruby nga kasarsarita. Kas kenca EVOL, napnuanda ti kinatakneng nga narigaten nga masapulan ti kaaduan. How I missed sir Pedro Abrenio (hopefully he is OK) who used to share his thoughts full of wisdom n respect like you. As i said we have 8 long months to decide what leaders shall we select again 4 the next 3 yrs. Do we really want peace or we want fear to reign in our dear province of Abra. Adda ti ima/botos tayo dayta nga gasaten.
