Elections 2016: Ang Da One

Political Cartoon

Political Cartoon

Elections 2016 is just hovering above us. Expect some major movements from politicans and would-be politicians in the next few months. Friends will be foes and foes will be friends.

The nation will be watching the National level as Pres. Noynoy Aquino winds down his rule. In our

To quote Tagamasid:

Submitted on 2015/02/06 at 12:08 pm

It appears that people with commendable and worth learning ideas like sir Pedro Abreno, Neiling, Mario Bang etc were tired with recent issues. How about a change of topic, with due respect permission of sir Sysop, on matters that have bearing on national concern. Whether we like it or not, we will have another president after 14 months. The leading aspirants based on surveys are in the person of Binay, ( let us see his percentage of approval for the 1st qtr of 2015), Grace Poe, Meriam Defensor and others far behind. There is a big move in Mindanao n Visayas to push the controvercial mayor Duterte of Davao City, claimed to be the most peaceful city in the Philippines. Who among the aspirant do you believe is capable to continue the Matuwid na Daan program of our president?

Of course in Abra, we all know that Governor Bersamin will be ending his last term of office. Who will replace him? Will Bersamin follow through his words that he will retire? (as he mentioned during my interview with him back in 2013).

How about the congressional seat? Will Bernos maintain a hold of her position?

Are there going to be new faces come election time? Or it will just be the same old faces?

Who’s going to the “DA One”?

I’m opening the floor for debate but please keep it clean.

  1. I will predict that it is the most honest, less expensive, and most peaceful we ever have in the history of election. But this will only happen if either Duterte, Roxas, Trillanes, or Santiago will run and win. So, it’s a big problem on the part of the politician whether or not to pour out or gamble his money nor still silencing his opponent for there’s no assurance that he could get his money back if he wins. The electorate will hardly make money for the first time but it’s a little sacrifice comparing of what they will get if one of the alleged presidential candidates will win. The dishonest COA personnel (if there’s any) will be forced also to minimize or completely cut their ties or collaboration with the corrupt government servants (elected or not) if the winner has more guts than the present one to punish whomever they may found unfit government servant. If my prediction is correct, what do you think that could possibly prove it wrong? Talk to me…..

  13. Thank you sir Sysop for considering my suggestion.

To supplement my proposed topic, pres. Aquino’s TUWID NA DAAN’ has also few shortcomings but more success. Among his significant accomplishments -changing our pitiful image as a sick man/country of Asia to be an envy of other countries. Based on international papers, the bottom lines:
    1. The Philippines now has the highest economic rating in history according to Wall Street Journal index and
    Financial /Data Service.
    2. Second fastest growing economy of Asia.
    3. Top 5 both tourism and investment opportunity.
    4. One of the top 10 in global marketing.

Again, who among the aspirants for president do you believe is capable to maintain or improve the gains achieved through the leadership of pres. B Aquino?

    Posted by TAGAMASID | February 17, 2015, 9:07 am
    • Tagamasid, your 1,2,3,& 4 assesment about our country is only in figures, they are absolutely virtual. Coz the common people do not feel the said progress. Our kababayans still belong to the alipin saguiguilid at alipin namamahay, who are working abroad to make or meet ends. If this so then bring home all our OFW who some of them are languishing behind the bars and some are about to meet the gallows of death in other countries. Come on Tagamasid be sensible enough, you are that intelligent, I believed.

      Posted by Loud & Clear | February 18, 2015, 7:25 pm
      • You are right LOUD N CLEAR, these are just virtual. People do not feel yet because it takes time for change – not in overnight time. The good news is that foreign investors are coming. See the new Mitsubishi inauguration where pres Aquino attended instead of receiving the fallen SAF44. The biggest Casino in the Phil recently inaugurated, and construction of world class hotels for tourists accommodation. These n many more are giving us thousands of new jobs. These are good signs of a healthy growing economy.
Hopefully, peace will be finally achieved in Mindanao. There is a big potential of tourism over there, with their beautiful beaches n many islands. Our country with a meager less than 5 million foreign tourists coming per yr is far behind compared to Thailand with around 30 million. Mindanao will give us also a big boast in Agriculture output with its good climate – rainfall is almost equally distribute throughout the year, unlike Luzon with long no rainy moths n long wet months. Anyway, I like your outlook in life Clear n Loud; you are very optimistic as shown in your reply to other comments.

At present most of our politician in ABRA has not completed their college course, they have just got the guts to run and man enough to face the consequences, but they luck the know how to run a better governance. I remember the speech of the late Dr. Bersamin he mentioned our common lingo “Pattung-ed”, well they here now. No ayan na tay ayos idiay da met a sumurot. So Eric, any reason why you choose Chari? • If I were to choose, it’s still go to gov Takit for congressman. He has proven his worth; his accomplishments even just after his 2nd term as governor is far more than Vicsyd had done in 20 yrs! The infra., the hospital, the trust of Cordillera political leaders as chairman for the region’s development, entrusting his security to AFP instead of mobilizing goons are big factors. Brain n means are not the only determining factors for selecting a good leader. The biggest factor, I believe is the heart toward the less fortunate. The late pres. Magsaysay was a drop out, a mechanic, but was the most love president.

For president, I go for mayor Duterte. I like his stand using the iron hands. His statements: ” I gladly go to hell as long as I can give paradise to my constituents”, and I’m willing to be a garbage (can) as long as I make your backyards very clean.”- words to ponder.

      Posted by Tsgamasid | February 19, 2015, 12:33 pm
      • Whooooaaa!!!!!!! indeed that was a very patriotic words of Mayor Duterte. Are you willing to do the same Tagamasid? he, he, he, Just kidding. Coz I usually read your post that you Love GOD more than anything else. Well, I do the same.
Takit is not a bad bet. Speaking of Prez. RM, Tagamasid, dont be blinded coz Prez. RM is one of a kind and can never be duplicated, just like Manny Pacquiao, he is one of a kind that usually very rare to come by. Yes, I do agree with you that “Brain n means are not the only determining factors for selecting a good leader.” But education and leadership is a plus factor nowadays, I wont settle for less, coz this may bring more misery than progress to the common people as you have observed now in ABRA. See the qualifications of all the Mayors around you. Questions; Have one of them stand up to your assesment? If so, who is she/he and what have he/she done that merits your standard.? If we can push Pedro Abrenio or Mario Bang then I am willing to support them in anyway I can. How about you Tagamasid are you willing to sip the nectar of politics?

        Posted by Loud & Clear | February 19, 2015, 6:52 pm
        • thank you for your endorsement LOUD & CLEAR, but politics is not my cup of tea. hehehe. I am an endorser myself.
In an ideal setting Tagamasid is right that brains and means are not the factors that make a good leader but the heart towards the lowly that counts. But the problem with our province is that our people are blinded by the glare of gold. Our voters no longer look at the person they are voting for but look at how much the politician can shell out to buy their votes. There have been good hearted and dignified candidates that aspired for different elective positions in the past but lost because they don’t have the means, the means to buy votes.
2016 is approaching and there are political realignments that are happening. If you have heard of what happened in the elections of the BOD president of ABRECO, that is already the beginning of the political divide. The new board president is the protegee of the Family of Dominic valera and his daughter joy bernos and it is not a secret that the protegee of Gov takit is ex-mayor medel taverner, who by the way was the winner but dominic valera intervened for his protegee jun bejarin to be proclaimed the winner, so that GM seares, who is the brother of the vice mayor of bangued, will still be GM. I have written in the past about this to which Comli allegedly asked the GM which the latter denied. Now it has happened.
I heard from a reliable source that the Valera – Vernos clan have already made their plans for 2016. They have set aside personal differences just for the sake of political survival. JB Bernos according to the source will run for Congress and Joy Bernos will run for Governor against Ruby Bersamin. This would mean the split in the Liberal Party in the province. Takit to my mind would run against JB. If this happens the province will be divided once again. Dominic Valera will not be unopposed, of coarse takit will get somebody to run against him. The son of Dominic, Domino is also running for mayor in the municipality of Pidigan against his estranged wife.
Glaring political dynasty. And darn, Money will overflow again and people will be blinded.
Sometimes I feel like giving up on our province but in our own small way, we are educating people to really choose well.

I was once blindfolded following him until my family got experience of injustice n violence. Be careful of you wish human rights advocate tagamasid baka ikaw una biktima ni duterte once naging presidente

Posted by eric shawn | February 19, 2015, 11:46 pm
        • People usually jump to the conclusion and not examining the parameters. Mayor Duterte is a rare species, his style and approach in making the system works is totally orthodox, which is undeniably working. The progress, peace & order in Davao is considerable and uncomparable to any place and Mayors around the Island of the Philippines. I was there in Davao last two months and had observed the situation during the day and night. During the night police visibility is overwhelming and if you are walking on the holy hour 100 percent police will stop by and politely ask you questions and also during the day police visibility is not only very good but excellent. There are many foreign companies investing in Davao, towers of condos are growing like mushrooms, taxi drivers are courteous & considerate. Here comes the stories about the killings of unwanted weed in Davao, usually according to the people who guide me around told me that before anything else, mayor duterte will warn of your illegal or unwanted (like drugs & prostituting minors) activities, and if you do not heed his warning and continue on your illegal way, expect the unexpected. Question is; Is this system applicable in our country as a whole? His style is like Lee Kwan Yu of Singapore, he manage peace & order with iron hand, and business with Confucius philisopy; with this link; http://leadersinheels.com/business/5-things-confucius-could-teach-us-about-business/.
So when Duterte rules he mean business not monkey business.
Lets go back to our province Abra. Politician like Mayor Dominic Valera is not the person that serve the people, instead he expect the people to serve him. Cong. Joylibee has nothing to trumpet, she belong to the silent majority in congress (who never speak nor make a speech) in our common lingo “Pattung-ed”. JB Bernos who is aspiring for congress, has nothing to say, La paz is still the same nothing change, you can compare his leadership to a cubscout, he is not even qualified as a boyscout. With this leaders expect the poignant situation of Abra to dig dipper. The Bersamin’s, well they have something to brag off, but mind you it is also tainted with corruptions, the hospital is an open book, everybody in Abra know the story. Now choose the lesser evil coz I beleived there is nobody who will challenge there aspirations in politics as their means is bottomless.

        • Loud n clear u only stayed davao for two days now u speak as if u are residents of davao. Duterte is dangerous man if he win the presidency no more abrenian.com in this net because he will curtail the basic rights of every individual. for abra politics koliglig is also dangerous man not because he could kill a person but he could deprive of your liberty. He used the legal sytem with the aid of justice brother to coerce individual to support madam x ambition to replace her husband like what he did to ex mayor domes-ag. koliglig thru his nephew jingjing dropped yhe case of malversation agnst domes ag for him not to run for mayor so that madam x will have a solid penarubia.

        • The violation of human rights is only committed by evil persons. How could you bring justice to their victims if these evil persons could buy our judges or other law enforcement authorities? If you would become the victim of injustices eric, which one you prefer? Duterte’s style or still trusting our corruptible present judicial system? And I don’t think what you’re thinking eric would still be the norm if Duterte got elected. Would he still allow the shenanigans of these crook authorities and other pests in the society or in the government as a whole if they’re reluctant to change? Why don’t we try to test a new style of leadership unless you’re not yet fed up with our criminal and thief government authorities? Are you or are you not?

        • Cdr. Dayang Dayang, that was a remarkable statements. I remember the case of Andit & JB Bernos where there bodyguard/killer turn against them for fear of his life. Although the material & physical evidence is overwhelming they were acquitted. According to some insider Andit & JB paid more or less P10M to the prosecutors, then BINGO!!!. That is one example of some cases of Judges that is being paid. If in congress & senate, you have Janet Napoles, well in the Judiciary you have also the same “Ma’am Arlene”, where a certain lady can liaise your case with the appropriate amount to win the case that is on trial. Kay Duterte di puede yan, the consequencial comeuppance is absolutely abrupt, were the tax money of the people will not be needed for such prolong trials.
It seems Eric, is not keen to move forward, he is comfortable for what we have today. Paid Judges, corrupt politicians that show no respect to the lowly as a human being. Where there words is like thunder that shiver within if you are not their allies. Agpapispis da lattan no kayat dan. I see that on my two eyes in foodcourt where Mayor Dominic did to one of the police man in bangued.Tay police apo umalalikeskes ti buteng na, uray la nakaisbo tay loko. Nagpatransfer pay sigud.

  16. Your first hand info about Duterte in your 2 mos. stay in Davao Loud n Clear answers questions why so many Pilipinos want him to be the next pres. While extrajudicial action is not the best, this is better for the evil people compared to legal where it is corrupted by law enforces, judges, effluence by VIP. Remember the zero crimes in 1 week after the declaration of Martial Law?
Eric, I will not be, and never be a victim of Duterte. As I mentioned before, I’m a sinner, had trespassed most of the basic law given to Moises. Read Romans 3:10 n 3:23. Read also Exekiel 18:31,32 for your transformation if you want to be a better man. The last verses are Pacquiao’s favorite, changing him from lover of lust to be a lover what is right. Take time to listen to the Words of the Son of Man by reading the Scripture. I suggest to focus on The 3 chapters of Matthew 5,6,7.

    • Politics is not the only way to serve our fellowmen. In fact with the politics we have in Abra, it is the ugliest kind of endeavor, because you have to sacrifice decency, self respect, by buying votes. It takes a miracle to win if you only capitalize on your guts, brain, and noble platforms.( At 3000 per voter, and you need at least 30 000 votes to win, one needs a minimum of 90 m ! That’s fortune! )But if one would try to gamble with those 3 credentials, I will surely support him/her.

If I have the means, I would rather coordinate with Local government units , Nongovernmental groups or local churches to Innetiate schemes to help indigents, especially the helpless elderly. This is not only commendable in the eyes of men but absolutely pleasing to the eyes of our almighty Father above.

  19. The appointed PDP political party leaders in the province should not include the traditional corrupt politicians in their line-up for the forthcoming national/local election. They could be just a member if they like but allowing them to run will just destroy the advocacy of Duterte or his chance to be elected as President. If this happens, our hope for Change is in jeopardy again that may lead me to believe that our province or Country as a whole is really doomed.

We have had disagreement in the past to the extent that I wrote some words which actually hurt me inside before you were hurt does not mean that you are less deserving candidate compared to others. In my estimate, you are far more qualified with guts and brain than the other lady aspirants. Sad to say, but recent n previous reprentatives of Abra have been in congress ‘counting house lizards’ as Mon Tulfo said, a big insult to Abranians. If you don’t collide headlong with gov. 26. It’s unfortunate that sometimes our statements are irrelevant to the issues; It became personal. With all humility, without lifting my heels, let me give a glimpse of the true life of the Man branded as ‘bobo in real life’ (this is not to stoop with such behavior), and what can hard work n trust in God can have.

    That humble man has:
-3 CS eligibilities plus clerical which never used.
-elected as president of professional group of 2 municipalities, serving as such in 15 yrs.
    – was able to send all kids in colleges, now with good jobs, modest houses including 3 condos In metro Manila and with cars ( one has 6)
    – through the collective efforts n love of these kids, that man and wife was able to travel some countries, such as Canada, USA most states from New York East to Ca. West to Montana north, including Hawaii 4 of the 7 islands- Big island, Oahu (Honolulu)Maui, Lanai (best climate with 2 world class hotels), clean Singapore with good roads, Malasiya with Jinteng city on top of the mountain like Lanai city, Hong Kong to other cities of China, and parts of Indonesia which has better highways though corrupt country as the Philippines. Anyway of all these countries, only Malasiya near Kuala Lumpor has tollgate. In America, freeways max. Speed is 70-78 miles ( 120km)per hr. So with this, it takes only around 3hrs from Manila to Bangued because the distant is only 200 miles.

It is hope that with the current Tuwid na Daan program of Pinoy, peace achieved all over the country, and the road development tourism will be improved including Abra. It is further hoped that we help each other stop political dynasties because this is one of the main roots of corruptions.

Eric, is just trying to be smart, but if you read his comment, you can level it up from 1 to 10 it is below 5. Discern and perspicaciously read his words and statement, it is not worth giving a second glance, I believed his argumentative reasoning has not par to the level of decency in your standard of writing. • Thanks LOUD N CLEAR for those kind words. It’s quite a long time that we didn’t hear inspiring thoughts here, most especially towards helping uplift the miserable lives of our people, partly caused by unfit and heartless elective n appointive leaders. How I miss sir Pedro Abrenio, Mario Bang, Naeling and others who are contributing substance to the objective of Sysop in A. Com.

Yes, some people really enjoy bullying others and exulting themselves. It’s a pity, because doing such thing only destroy themselves in return. Worst thing that I observed is that most people have too much love of material things and trust in themselves alone not in God’s power who makes all good things possible. Our country is a Christian country, with a religion conceived on love of God n neighbors but actually lovers of self, money, power.

        Posted by TAGAMASID | March 1, 2015, 8:05 am
        • Tagamasid, it is flattering that you miss our contributions as you say with substance to the objective of A.com.
Sometimes I would like to just give up on Abra, especially the kind of leadership that we have. I don’t generalize that all our leaders are not good. There are a handful of our current politicians who are really doing their part in improving the lives of their constituents. But the current congresswoman is not one of those few handfuls. Look at how she manipulates funds at the DPWH. Good if it her meddling could only be for the good, but it is the reverse. See the projects that she dipped her hand into, not a year passed and you see cracks and holes on the roads her father contracted. I saw her at one occasion at the plaza of Bangued during its last town fiesta enumerating her accomplishments. Seeing the projects she enumerated, I could not but wonder if her speech writer is serving her right. She brags of good roads she built when in fact, they have become worse roads, take the bangued-tayum road as an example. she also bragged of helping the BHWs which she said she gave incentives too. Good if this supposed BHWs are really serving as BHW or Barangay Health Workers, but I dare say that they are not working as such, so they should not be called BHW but Congressional Pensioners. Ask the different health officers in the Province, they know the truth of my statement. She also is meddling with DSWD funds in the guise of medical assistance, even when people do not need the medicines, just to liquidate funds.
Personally, I dont also like to endorse Comli for the position simply for the reason that she is associated with corrupt personalities, specifically Jun Seares. If she could have listened to my statements about Jun Seares, maybe I could have given her the benefit of the doubt. But instead of listening, she defended a corrupt personality, so what makes her different from them?
If I were to name names to my idea of good leaders in the province, I would name the mayors in the group of 14 mayors given the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping for 2014 except for the mayors of Bangued, La Paz and Danglas. For the plain reason that these are also perceived by most as coming from political dynasties.

So I came with the conclusion that hunger can demolished reasonable standard of voting in our place. Even our well to do politician they still yearn for more, as you said from constructions to social work and anything that has to do with money they squeezed it to the very last drop. They try to lure people by trumpeting their accomplishment which are substandard. And also watch the family has a Dra. so when you renew your bangued business license although you do not sell food they require you to have a medical certificate taken from her office. They are very fond in making money, so how do you expect that a progress will then be given to the long deprived constituent of abra with this kind of leadership that the Family of Dominic Valera and Bernos. Although their offices is at the mercy of the public, the intellectual and moral purity is put to question when this politician began distributing the apple of Eve which is worth P3K. Sadanto agreklamo no nangato ti Tax, he, he, he, kuna danto uray bassit la a nateng a tagilakom dpay makalusot kadaguiti tax collector ni Nic. Thats how this present politician in Abra now. You are putting the name of the Lord in vain. When you use the term “god” you actually mean Satan, the pseudo god (2 Corinthian 4:4) the ruler of this world”(John 12:31) the one who corrupted the mind and heart of the people. The one whom Tagamasid refers to as the author of money and power as the greatest thing in the world thus effectively destroys the spirituality of many.

  31. loud & clear you are absolutely right about your conclusion that and let me quote you, “hunger can demolished reasonable standard of voting in our place”. Like I have said in my previous posts, most voters in abra no longer look at the credentials or the integrity of the person campaigning but how much the candidate can shell out to buy their votes. Yes, we cannot deny it, there are wise voters in abra but are outnumbered by the people who sell their votes. Then after these politicians they elected into office take office and impose additional burden to the people, they complain. These people, who were bought are the first to complain because they are the first to experience the brunt of the effects of the actions of the people who bought their votes. They should not complain because they did not exercise their right to choose, they sold that right. Like for your example, in the case of Bangued, It is the lowly workers that feel the heaviest burden for having voted for Dominic Valera after the latter bought their votes for 3,000.00 pesos each. Now it is payback time. They are taxed to the max. Food handlers and even non-food handlers are required to secure health certificates and laboratory exams from the RHU of Bangued exclusively, and they are charged for that. The sad part about this scheme is that even doctors are required to secure medical certificate from that RHU and even undergo laboratory procedures in that facility even if they themselves have their own laboratory. This is a clear violation of the Sanitation code and to enterprise. Another, the municipality of Bangued even ask public conveyances to register in the municipality, which is a form of taxation, but this had been declared illegal by the supreme court, but still they continue to do so. The imposition of 1% tax on deliveries made by companies without warehouses in the municipality is another violation and added burden to the people. But well, as I have said, the people deserve the government they voted for.

  33. No wonder JOHNNY QUEEN that Eric Shawn behaves as somebody up there. He is probably making more than what Dr. Ferdie Banez makes. He is from P alao Bangued but now residing in a 7th floor condo in New York just stone throw away from the bombed twin tower. He is one of my kids’ friends whom we visited last Year in our tour of NY. Dr Ferdie is making some 150 dollar/ 7 to 8 t per hr.

If you go to New York Eric, don’t fail to see The Statue of Liberty – a gift of France, built by a famous French architect. America n France has along history of friendship. Without France probably America was defeated and democracy was not tasted by people entire the world. Find time also to eat at the highest n biggest revolving restaurant at 51 floor I think. See the Emperial building, the Time square, and maybe you are not comfortable to stay in a room in manhattan ave where we stayed just in front of a NY police headquarters.

No adda saan nga nakapappapati ditoy kabsat JOHNNY QUEEN, please katawwaan nak lattan saanak nga kasuron di kanto matalimudaw. Hahaha.

      • I believe you are matured enough Mang Kepweng to identify Mahangin from a real man. I’m sharing wonder places which are worth visiting. If you could afford, why not try to see these places, to verify the veracity of my words and to appreciate the historical values of places mentioned.
Maybe to start with your journey, visit Singapore and see how clean and beautiful is the city. Arigna park to igid ti kalsada ti kadalos! 5 to 20 m natriman ! Good if you could see a crack in their roads. Bumalsiw ka diay Malaysia, at 110km/ hr and with 2 lanes road, see Genting City on top of a mountain probably higher than Baguio and stay in one of the biggest hotels in Asia with around 5000 rooms. Ride also in their cable car, one of the longest in Asia. Then go to Hawaii, and visit ms Comli abode in Maui where you could see one of the biggest Banyan trees in the world which occupies probably an acre. Dagiti pagaw umay da mangan ti asidegmo ta naamoda, maparit ti agpalsiit sa diay. Then for 45 min. Boat ride, visit Lanai City with only 3000 plus population, mostly ilocano. No adda am-ammom sadiay, mangorder ka ti ugsa, mamindua ti kaadu ti Ugsa ngem tao sa diay. Lasag ken nanguneg laeng ti sidada sadiay. Meet the Batoons from Manabo, the Espiritu n Baltero from Santa Maria,Is. The Reymundo from Abra. Then go to Big Island, agpa paska ti Alingo ta adu sa diay.
No nasayaat ti mapili nga agturay ti Abra ket sumayat ti kalsada ken linak ken talna, sigurado nga adu met ti tourists nga umay ditoy. Napintas ti lugar tayo ken managsangaili ni Abrenio. Agtitinnulong tayo nga mangikompanya contra vote buying ken contra political dynasties.there is hope if we could eradicate these sources of evils.

  39. I may see myself as an apolitical, but I just couldn’t hide my disappointment on the President of the Republic. To be honest, I see his cousin and opponent in the last presidential election, Gibo Teodoro to be far better than Noynoy, in terms of professionalism, management ability, and statesmanship. Aquino’s campaign rhetoric “Tuwid na Daan” blinded many who portrait himself as a savior who will tame corruption with might upon setting foot at Malacanang Palace. The “Tuwid na Daan” campaign jingle was a mere lip service. His giving due importance to friendships more than the greater good shows a lot of his character. His latest speech on the Mamasapano incident explains it all. Deriding Gen. Napenas excessively on national television, while protecting his suspended best friends Gen. Purisima is a sickening sight and a conduct unbecoming of a president. An avalanche of criticisms befell to the President, who loves to point his finger to others more than himself as the Chief Executive of the Republic and a Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to say the least. Mature individuals take responsibility on wrongdoings. Passing the blame is a small boy mindset. This Pnoy Government would not last until 20 16, unless Pnoy will show sign of maturity. But this is not an overnight process. The case of Gloria Arroyo being elevated to the UN Human Rights Council by an international lawyer is an additional blow to the sagging image of the administration which will only unmasked the true color and motives of Noynoy, thought it was already obvious as seen in many occasions like when he unconventionally scoffed the Catholic Bishops in front of the visiting Pope, apparently for turning soft with GMA. If this case filed at the UN will succeed, the nation will be exposed to an international embarrassment.

  40. Barbero has ruled abra for 20 years, the great commander Vicente Valera has 21 years. I quote Beato Alberto: the fate of every politician lies in Time when you see a leader or his spouse showing interests of rearranging the stars for their conjugal satisfaction. you will see acts of disrespect, greedines, selfishness, and an overwhelming spouse.
Whether we like or dislike, the end of the second generation of bersamins in politics is forthcoming. It is takit’s fate because he is giving out those signs. well, the future is not mine to give.it’s based on a mathematical analysis re: abra’s political history. History repeats itself Hence, the likelihood of events is inevitable.

Posted by old abrenian | March 16, 2015, 7:48 am
    • OLD ABRENIAN, your observation is true and I agree. Abra has been ruled by families that we could be counted by our fingers. The Paredeses, the Valeras, the Barberos, the Bersamins, Balbin, Bernos and other minor players. Many municipalities in our province have “Permanent” families that rule them like The Somera-Berona clan of Pilar, The Bernoses of La Paz and Danglas, the Lunas of Lagayan, the Pacsas of San Isidro, the Diazes of San Quintin, the Balaoases of Boliney, the Domasings of Manabo, the Cardenases of Sallapadan and Bucloc and the Co Cues of Daguioman. They rule their respected municipalities, if not the patriarch it is the spouse or their children that rule.
Why this is happening to our province is the fault of the voters. Sad to say, we the people have to contend with them because it is us who put them in their pedestals. we never learn. Vicsyd Valera began the trend of turning over power to spouse and then taking back power. The husband wife tandem ruled for straight 21 years as governor. Now takit is about to do that after his term expire on June 30, 2016, turn over power to his wife? But this may somehow not be easy. Why?
March 8, 2014 after the program of the womens day of the kawayan festival, the group of Cong Joy lead by of course the patriarch of the Bernos clan, Andres Bernos and the head of the Valera family Mayor Dominic Valera of Bangued, according to very reliable sources around takit, that they allegedly approached Gov Takit and told him their plans for 2016. They, thru andit bernos, told Gov takit to just run for congress and that Joy Bernos would be running for Governor, to which takit allegedly asked the group to give his wife Ruby just one term for her to finish what he has began and that after that one term, they, Takit and his wife, would relinquish power and leave the country, the the valera-bernos group allegedly imposed their will that Joy will run for governor. Takit allegedly got mad at their insistence and thus he blurted that they just fight this one out in 2016. At this incident, Andit bernos allegedly told takit that he is ingrateful because when takit endorsed joy bernos for congresswoman, takit raised her hand only halfway not all up with full stretched hand. Takit allegedly retorted, If only Joy was not so persistent in talking to takit that he endorse Joy for congress to which he later did endorse, could have not beaten Cecilia Luna if not for his endorsement. Now he allegedly said, “who between us is ingrate” He allegedly blurted, “Laban di Laban”. Takit will pit his wife Ruby against Cong Joy. I think that this is the beginning of another expensive and bloody elections. This incident was full of tension between the two camps that takit was attended medically for hypertension.
I don”t like both parties, but if left with no other choice, I would select the lesser evil.
The valera-bernos clan are so hungry for power that they think they could impose on everyone. They are just like conquerors that want to expand their empire. They want the governorship (Joy), they also want congress(JB), of course they have la paz and danglas(Dra Poyee), they want to retain Bangued, (dominic) and they want to grab power from their estranged daughter-in-law Jansenn in Pidigan (Domino) and allegedly now they also want Penarubia (Sylvia) in response to takit’s pronouncement. Hehehe, they may also want all their alalays to run for office that will now own abra.
Not unless we, the people, reject political dynasty in our province will we be able to attain true freedom and progress. Good if these people are doing their jobs right. but they are not.

  41. Politics as we knew too well was far from ideal. To be in politics, one has to play dirty. Among Ed Panlilio who deliberately discarded his priesthood duty to answer the clamor for change in his province Panganga went out of politics red handed even. On the other hand, Joko Widodo, the newly elected president of Indonesia was literally unknown in the circle of political bigwigs but has exemplified audaciousness in wading through the tide of traditional politics. It is a result of people change of heart. It remains to be seen whether a real change would took place though. Locally, we are again faced with the issue of who will be the best candidates comes 2016. Just like many others, I felt almost like a hopeless case. Traditional and dirty politics thrive even to those who have professed genuine transformation once elected only to see them being controlled by organized groups with self centered interest or became political mafias themselves. We can only hoped for these people in positions and those who have political foundations to be in spiritual awakening. So they may become a significant figure of change It happened in many circumstances in history. For one, St. Paul was an evil murderer and persecutor of the early Christians but once touches by the Holy Spirit; he became the prime mover in the Christianization of Rome.

  42. Who are those guys reffered to as lingtan boys of takit? Leo millare is the guy you often see behind the demon-tail of takit. The millares? Here is a simple analogy.
captain bob belongs to the vice…the vice belongs to the mayor.
    therefore…….

What about cap mak? He he he he because of boy aquino..

If you know about the principles of the double effect…you will have a clear perspective
