We have lost count how many disconnection notices ABRECO has received from Aboitiz Power (APRI). Each time ABRECO somehow was able to avert disaster. Incidentally, exactly 2 years ago today, Aboitiz went ahead and delivered the coup de grace and pulled the plug.
Barely a month has gone by since APRI and ABRECO agreed to maintain the status-quo based on certain conditions. But APRI, in an email update to abrenian.com, apparently delivered another disconnection notice to ABRECO on December 1, 2014. In that notice ABRECO was given up to December 8 to settle their bill.
“Unfortunately sir, the cooperative once again failed to comply to their commitment to settle their power bill on time, based on the agreed payment schedule.”, said an Aboitiz representative.
“They again failed to pay, thus, APRI will have no choice but to enforce the disconnection tomorrow, December 10, 2014” (abrenian.com).

A crook would always claim innocense inspite of the truth that he actually did.The crook GM loreto Seares is really good, because you believe in him even though he is lying. Have you ever tried asking independent people as to what the state of ABRECO really is? Why not ask the lowly linemen, the clerks or the bill collectors for you to know the truth. Ask them if they have taken what is due them.

As far as financial statements of Abreco, I did my verifications. What was given to me by Abreco were all verified against the reports submitted to NEA & CDA. They all matched somehow.
Now, what I needed from GM are names of those who made advances and the amounts. In the reports I had, it only said “employees advances”. I can send SYSOP the latest financial report I have so he can post here for everyone to see the format of their reporting. I can also send the COA report before his take over so you all see what they call…”the best kept secret” they’ve been protecting all these years. GM mentioned to me he is still paying debts of the previous management. I never disclosed this to anyone, but I think the time has come i guess fir all of you to make your judgments. It saddens me to see the GM taking all the crap of someone else’s.
Pedro Abreno or MARIO Bang you’re right, I do not have the latest COA Report. It was’ nt ready at the time I went to CDA. Mr. Alindogan told me it’s still being reviewed by their legal dept.
And, yes I met with everyone…NEA, CDA & APRI just to get a feedback. Everyone expressed their opinions and I agree with all of them.
My findings was held for a while because I wanted to du cuss them with the GM. Unfortunately, I had to leave to come back to the US. I was hoping for the GM to meet with me at the office of CDA so we can discuss the areas of HELP he needed. Couldn’t get in touch with him, until only the other day.
My impression about the GM: Resourceful, Smart, ( although everyone claims he is not a college grad), good hearted, quiet, respectful, irresponsible when it comes to his appointments & calls, a good listener, willing to learn, accepts constructive criticisms, a good leader based on my observations meeting with his BOD & staffs, and he’s a charming one.
For those with dirty minds & dirty mouths: I am not paid by anyone to express my opinions; I am NOT his “miss… (tress)” and I am not romantically involved with him…capice?

My good friend, SP James Bersamin paid dearly with his life because he exposed the mess at ABRECO before Jun Seares took over the helm. As a matter of fact all the evidences compiled by SP James were with me for one whole week. The consumers then were supposed to receive a rebate in staggered basis because they were overcharged by the then management of ABRECO. I saw all the spurious receipts of expenses given by then management to liquidate the monies of the cooperative. That is the reason why in my previous posts, I wrote that he (Jun Seares) may be right when he said he inherited an ABRECO deeply mired in debt. However, with all due respect, Madam Omli, I maintain that ABRECO deteriorated further under the watch of Jun Seares. ABRECO did not have to face an electricity cut-off before the term of Jun Seares until several years after. It was only in 2012 that ABRECO’s finances really went under and the rest is history. The management of ABRECO today is paying its arrears for the month of November with collections coming from the December billing. Where will they get the money to pay their December bill? This will go an ad infinitum unless we use the final and fitting solution which is to have a complete change in the management of ABRECO. Jun Seares can say anything he wants, but how can we check the veracity of his statements when he refuses to face the consumer/members. At the very least, he should convene a special assembly and make a clean breast of it to show he is innocent of the allegations hurled against him. If he does that and he passes the scrutiny of the consumer/members, I will be the first to recommend that he be given a chance to continue working as general manager of ABRECO. Failing that, the most honorable thing left for him is to resign. I sincerely believe that is fair enough.

What the board can do to make an impact, is to hire a third party auditor to verify the financial position of the cooperative, someone that has already establish their names, proved their expertise, and with unquestionable integrity in the industry… The likes of SGV, pricewaterhousecoopers, manabat and company, alba romero, Punongbayan & araullo etc…. Or any accounting firm that has Group A accreditation (those that can audit publicly listed companies)
If the board of directors can give themselves carS as additional compensation, getting the services of these high tier accounting firms should not be an issue (or given the right connections, they can perform the services for free). As this would surely identify and address the current state of the cooperative, determine the real and unquestionable financial position of the cooperative, so they can give expert advice to help management steer the cooperative back to its right track, and bring back credibility to the cooperatives and to those people managing it.
Though, for the Board, this might be a bitter pill that would be hard for them to swallow, hence as long as this is not met, all we have now are b.s. talks about this and that, reports of this and that, cheap speeches about like this and likethat, and some band-aid solutions in addressing a growing societal dilemma.
Hint: if the board does not convene it, maybe concerned members can petition/ initiate/ start a referendum for such matter, i guess nothing is wrong if members would just want to know the current state of the cooperative from an undisputable accounting firm.

Gone are those days, people can now speak up freely. Bloggers who are posting defensive arguments sparingly shows no tactfulness in their words, nor any dept of thoughts. These are the people in position who think they are untouchables. Be reminded that falsehood would not last, it will eventually recede and the truth will come overwhelmingly. my knowledge of what is happening within ABRECO has somehow has its roots on personal experience. I saw the angst of the employees who this GM Seares have trodden because these employees would not follow his corrupt practice. I am not affected by his actions with regards to these employees but I could only feel for them and their families.
I could not be PEDRO ABRENO because we have different opinions when it comes to the start of this mess called ABRECO. MY friend pedro abreno claims that it started during the previous administration of ABRECO as he claims that his friend, the late SP James Bersamin have shown him papers to prove such. my source says otherwise. While it may be true that ABRECO had debts during the time of Marco Bautista, now mayor of San Juan, ABRECO was updated with its payments with its commitments. ABRECO was given incentives for paying before due date in the form of discounts. ABRECO had bank accounts in the different local banks. ABRECO was classified as a big depositor because it had large bank deposits.Local banks were all competing to get ABRECO to deposit in their bank. These local banks were collecting daily deposits from ABRECO. Now what?
The common argument we have with pedro abreno is that ABRECO deteriorated during Jun Seares’s watch. for the longest time, ABRECO was never threatened with disconnections from its power suppliers. It is only during the term of Jun Seares that notices of disconnections have been made.

Jun seares is Smart, yes, he was so smart to have fooled you. If i remember good, it was about the same time…few days before X’mas. I wroteletters to Aboitiz & CDA to negotiate just incase Abreco could not come up with the money. I had investors that time who were willing to loan the amount needed, for our province not to have the disconnection during the holidays. Inaramidko amin nga kabaelak because I care for the people of Abra. Now, tell me…am I only enjoying about what’s happening?
I am working alone finding the best way for a better management of Abreco. I don’t think that the solution is for the GM to step-down or resign. He just have to be tougher and more responsible on some areas. LET NO POLITICIAN
interfere in the affairs of Abreco. Cut down unnecessary labor cost. Do not lend money to outsiders. Abreco is not a bank or Credit Union. Concentrate on accounts receivables…Advances especially. By-Laws of Abreco must be strictly followed. Terms of BOD’s must be reviewed.
These are a few of what I thought Abreco should start doing.

Ask your people to monitor the conduct of the district elections so they will see for themselves how local politicians manipulate the elections. You forgot to include the convening of the general assembly where consumer/members can scrutinize the finances of the cooperative. That is the forum where Jun Seares can cleanse his name that he alleges to have been tarnished by unjust accusations. It is both unfortunate and deplorable that he can explain to you but not to the real stakeholders – the consumer members who were forced to pay capital share. It is also the forum where he can spill the beans on his predecessor from whom he claims to have inherited a cooperative deeply mired in debt. The call of consumer/members for a general assembly is deafening. An innocent man would want nothing better than a chance to face his accusers. “The innocent are as brave as a lion”. His refusal to convene an assembly despite the fact that ten percent of the member/consumers have signed a petition a number of times speak volumes about his guilt. Again, “to whom much is given, much is required”. This is as simple as I can put it.
