Feedback: Local Politicians should cancel trip to Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas will bite you in the end eventually.

What happens in Vegas will bite you in the end eventually.

Another feedback from our readers regarding the devastation of typhoon Yolanda. Do you agree?

———-
Comment: Good day Sir!

I read on the other thread regarding donations from Abra saying the church has so far collectect P38,000.00 for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

Obviously this amount came from ordinary Abrenos (i gave my share kahit maliit lang) who have the heart and concerns to our countrymen who lost everything they own. Malayo man sila, kailang parin nila ng tulong. Who knows some day tayo naman ang nangangalingan later on, sila naman ang tutulong.

Now where are our politicians? Nasaan na kayo? Can they spare at least some of their loots for a good use? The above amount is nothing, considering how they splurge with their cars, clothes, houses and vices and traveling around the world and pagkatapos post lang ng post sa Internet.

This really makes me angry and cry for our kababayans. Where did these politicians came from? where are the decency? Where’s the compassion? Where?

Lastly, if these politicians cannot afford na mag donate, at least the most civil thing to do is to be in solidarity with all Filipinos and mourn with every family who lost their love ones.

Nabalitaan ko po na aalis si Mayor Dominic dito sa Bangued. Pati sila governor takit at congresswoman Joy at iba pa papunta ng Las Vegas inniliw this month. My suggestion i-cancel muna nila yan and instead donate what ever they are supposed to spend in America.

Or at least have the decency as a human being. This is not the time to party po. Mahiya naman kayo sa taong bayan!

  3. Compassion and decency are strange words to most politicians. They came from nowhere, but embraced the love of money when came to power and devoured poor man’s due in every opportunity, they are the most popular breed of pigs in Pinas these days!

Take note, most Japanese don’t believe in God; they worship their ancestors in stead. Ngem ammoda ti kaipapanan ti sarita nga asi (compassion). Politicians claimed to be all Christians, going to church sometimes for the ‘show’ to deceive the poor man. That Japanese kid is more welcomed by God than these hypocrite politicians.

  4. There’s no way that they will cancel their trip to Las Vegas. The reason not to cancel their trip is to make a BIG BET, for the Fight of Many PACQUIO against Brandon RIOS next week in Macao, and they believe that the Pacman will win the fight.GREEDY POLITICIAN’S.

  5. Oh come on. Politicians can not even help in their own back yard much more to outsiders. I bet my meager earnings they will be dancing away in Las Vegas together with the elitistas. Partying gambling drinking eating like pigs using taxpayers money. Ika nga Antay Antay lang mga pictures in Facebook pag may time.

  8. What difference does it makes if they don’t go? Show of respect or donate their Las Vegas money instead?
Hello…? To whom are we dealing with? We already made up our impressions of what kind of Abrenians they are and still expecting a miraculous change of their heart? What if they decided to cancel their trip but still the same amount they have donated (if there’s any) didn’t change. Ania to manen iti makuna tayo kadakuada? And who are we that they care to listen to? Let them go and just wish for the doubling of their money amangan no mangabak da, uray 1% laeng iti mapanunot da nga inayon nga i-donate kadagitoy kakaasi nga kakabsat tayo nga taga Bisayas.

I seldom agree with Eric Shawn, but his message this time is clear; The noble stand is our determined fight for our rights, to see to it that Juan’s hard earned taxes must be used for general welfare and not personal advantages of heartless public officials which is the main cause of endless hardship among Abrenians. Let us fight together to conguer thisdemonic practices!!!

        • While I know that most government offices and big business across the country have cancelled their Christmas parties in deference to the suffering of our countrymen in the south, I did not post any comment in this thread. I respect the individual decision of our fellow Abrenos to attend or skip the “Inniliw”. After all, there is nothing in the law that prohibits it.
Sadly and unfortunately, PALILENG, you took the liberty of dragging my name in a thread I have no wish to participate. I am therefore taking this opportunity to disabuse your mind and the minds of those who think similarly, of the notion that I was shamed and humiliated. I see no shame in offering an apology. As a matter of fact, I have said sorry in several posts I have made in various threads even if I believed I was not at fault. It takes a lot of character to say sorry because it is a word that seems very hard for others to say.
It does not matter if I was right or wrong. People posting their comments and observations then were polarized. Those who expressed support for me were attacked. Even the chief architect of Abrenian.com was not spared. There was even one who said Abrenian.com sucks, making me wonder why to this date he is still participating in various threads.
I saw it as a call to humility and I apologized. I voluntarily signed off from Abrenian.com for a period of time. The offended party accepted my apology graciously. But did that stop several others from heaping insults and scorn? No. It went on for an indeterminate amount of time. One was even hallucinating claiming, “Nagparamdam si Pedro Abreno sa thread na ito”, seeing a ghost where there was none. Palileng, did you see me post anything in return? No, I took it all in stride.
My mother was the greatest influence of my life. From her I learned the difference between right and wrong. From her, I learned not to be ashamed of committing mistakes for by some of these are we truly made wiser. None of us is perfect. I am not. But pray tell me Palileng, have any of our government officials ever apologized for the miserable lives our people are condemned to live, for the victims of blood-thirsty savages in barongs, for all the mess our people find themselves in? That, Palileng to my mind is truly shameful. To make oneself appear to be blameless can only be the work of a hypocrite and a spineless person.
I know Palileng that you have to earn your keep by sucking up to the powers that be. But has it ever occurred to you that scores of our people are enslaved by corruption? There are none so blind as those who refuse to see. You attack people who criticize our corrupt officials but you see nothing wrong with all the greed and violence around you.
Palileng, your tiresome refrain is “prove it, show me your evidence, bring it to the proper forum”. Not all things that cannot be proven are false and you know that. Be that as it may, I will oblige by giving you a few examples.
          1. A government official offers the use of government vehicles with red plates to balikbayans and gives them a gas slip to boot. That gas slip will cost the government over 2,000 pesos. This was repeated over and over again – multiple cases of malversation of public funds. There is a saying that a person who cannot be trusted in small things cannot be trusted in big things. Can I prove it? Hell, no. My balikbayan relatives who have clearly shed their scruples about wrongdoing will not corroborate my allegation because of their friendship with the government official. But that is the unvarnished truth and I have personal knowledge about it.
          2. A corrupt fiscal at the Hall of Justice sent me a note written on a scrap of paper asking me for some material thing. I did not give and he dismissed the case I filed. I brought it to the DOJ who reversed the decision of the corrupt fiscal. What that fiscal did was contrary to law. Can I prove it? Again, no. His messenger will never corroborate my allegation lest he lose his job. Again, that is an unvarnished truth and I have personal knowledge of it.
3.In the early 1990s, the son of then DPWH-Cordillera Regional Director Pleyto got off the hook in a rape case in exchange for a riprap project near the tunnel at Tangadan. That project was implemented by a former mayor who was soundly thrashed in the May elections. The money collected from DPWH-Cordillera was placed in a carton and deposited at the then PCIB at the corner of McKinley and Santiago Sts. Can I prove it? Again, no. The former mayor will not corroborate my allegation because he profitted handsomely from it. This is again, an unvarnished truth and I have personal knowledge about it. I even confided this to a priest in Bangued when I went to confession.
What particular message can be gleaned from these? Some crooks as smarter than the others.
You say “bring it to the proper forum”. Your idea of a proper forum are the courts where hoodlums in robes hold sway, where Lady Justice is not blindfolded. There can be no better indictment of the justice system in Abra than the refusal of NBI Cordillera to file the murder cases against the Bernos father and son tandem in our courts. It certainly speaks volumes about the rot that has eaten the justice system in our benighted province.
Palileng, be careful what you wish for. Your principals may not be so lucky next time. God works in wondrous ways.

Maikadua, gapu iti rigat ti biag kapilitan nga ilakom ta botos mo total ilakom ken saan takawen danto met laeng tay para kaniam. Ti ammok la nga solution na daytoy ket masapul nga maleppedan dagiti thief politicians and their friends/relatives nga agkandidato tapno dagiti nadalus (siguro) nga kumandidato maikkan ida iti gundaway. Ngem iti problema saan met nga kaya nga lappedan ida ti agadama nga tabas iti judicial system tayo such as the: criminal court/Ombudsman/Sandigan BAyan/Supreme Court, ta ti kaya da ket dua laeng nga dadakkel nga palileng. No koma kas kenni Duterte ti Davao ti katatao da dakkel ti namnama. Isun sa pay ketdin iti gapu ti pakapar-parigat tayo iti agsasaruno nga kalamidad nga kas warning kadagitoy tapno agbalbaliw da koma metten.

Think….think….why only the Philippines is suffering these kind of disasters when in fact we’re the only Christian country in the whole Asia? It is because we have the most number of government thief officials? Saan ngata nga dusan dagitoy gapu iti kina-ipokrito tayo nga mang-uusar ken Apo Dios?

Apo Roxas and Aquino, the better than ground Zero future of the Abrenians and the country as a whole will only depend only on how you prevent these thief politicians from running to any elective government post. If you fail to annihilate these pests before the national election, the impoverished many will eat again their tears because of continuous hunger and vomit with blood of anger that the wrath of nature may still bring. Please do something now….before it’ll be too late again…….for I’m confident that our Creator had sent you like Moises of the Jews to free us also from the bondage of slave-poverty and ire of nature.
      May God bless your hearts…..

      • removal of the Pork Barrel is a start kabsat. Hallelujah! the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional. One of the reason why these politician thieves are everywhere is because of the lure of so much money coming from the country Chief Executive. Who started this Pork Barrel? haan aya nga naggapo iti presidente? to consolidate his power. idi bassitak ammok nga awan pay sweldo dagiti barrio chiefs, nganngani awan sweldo iti mayor ket makitam nga dagiti laeng sipupudno nga agserbi iti agkandidato. but now because people know that there is big money from being a politician ah ket aminen kayat nan iti agbalin nga local, provincial, wenno national official. 😉 adu kuarta ngarud. so when these greedy people succeed in putting themselves in a position all hell break loose. awanen iti husto nga panagserbi iti pada na nga tao but rather it becomes personal enrichment!! Can Aquino or Roxas as you said, get rid of these system? I have a big doubt on that. These people are millionaires and they didnot even work for it. natawid da. Those who came from the bottom and worked their way up isu da iti makaammo ken makaawat iti kinarigat. these are the people who have honest compassion. Their heart is for the Good. Ket diak ammo no adda limsot nga official ita nga kasta iti kinatao na 😦 anyway HOPE is the word. we continue to hope for the best, hope that the system will change for the better, hope that somehow in the near future ket adda agtugaw nga iti puso na ket adda kadagiti pagsayaatan iti kaaduan nga haan nga mappan agpabaknang no di ket itrabaho na iti pagsaayaatan iti umili.. we continue to pray….

Tallo laeng iti ammok nga pangrukodan iti kinasiasino tayo. Umuna, padasem nga utangan wenno adda kadi isuna nga sidadaan no adda makasapul iti uray ania man nga tulong, kabagyan na man ken saan, gayyem na wenno kabusor na, ken am-ammo na wenno saan dayta nga tao nga rebbeng na koma nga tulongan? Maikadua, slow to anger ba isuna wenno nalaka nga agunget, awanan iti forgiving heart especially to his loved ones and to those who are just a piece of shit to him? Ken maikatlo, adda kadi tured na nga agsarita wenno mangilaban ti rights ti uray siasino man, pang-publiko or for private individual nga awan kasukat na nga supapak, wenno bagbagina laeng iti am-ammona nga ilaban wenno ikalintegan ti paglaingan na? Adda pay laeng iti masapulan kadaytoy manipud kadagiti nasanay man iti rigat wenno nam-ay nga kaadduan na makitam isuda da kadagiti naduma-duma nga grupo iti nadumaduma nga Religion and civic action organizations.

Ngem kasano ngarud nga makumbinse isuda nga agkandidato ket majority of our voters still need money from any source, regardless? Maybe, it’s only just 5% of us who will be able to use our vote wisely and these thief politicians know this fact. But, if our philanthropist were able to bankroll the rightful candidates in outbidding these thieves maybe we got a chance, but where the hell they are? Do we have some in our Country? Or, if maybe, Madam O could research the whereabouts of philanthropists that currently supporting different community projects in their Country and solicit their assistance, maybe we got a chance in outbidding these corrupts. I think they are allowed to contribute their money for political campaign purposes in and outside of their country. Otherwise, our only hope is to just keep on hoping until that hope miracously materialized out of nowhere……….

        • Pagayam Manna.lon, your ideas represents the outlooks and aspirations of other bloggers here in a.com. We see the other side of the coin so to speak. Proactive is a welcome mindset as an important catalyst for change. We already have a premonition that corruption in the government will soon be exposed completely that begins on the fork barrel scam that resulted with a massive rally against it. It was a big surprise to many when finally, the Supreme Court ordered it as unconstitutional, hence it should be abolish at once. There are lots more to come. For the mean time let us look upon our self, can we truly mean change? If so let us start within the self. As the scriptures said, the Kingdom of Heaven starts within you.

    • Good decision Madam Comli for it shows how big your heart is. Likewise, If I were you, I rather not attend that Inniliw because some of your real friends and relatives might not be able to socialize with you in the eyes of those who were not happy with your various comments in this dot com. Instead, just contact them and find a private palce in Vegas where you can get together. If you insist to socialize or “inniliw” with them in public, I am afraid you’ll be just ignored by your true friends/relatives because of their fearful concerns that these thief politicians will form negative or unfavorable impressions in their mind against them. Be careful Madam for there are still more individuals waiting for your compassionate deeds/actions.

Who told you that we will bring cases of thievery and justice for sale to the judicicial courts where hoodlums in robes and fixcals are waiting to mangle these cases beyond recognition? We have been bringing these cases to the court of public opinion. You were just too busy lawyering for thieves in barongs and hoodlums in robes that you failed to notice. TEKKA, there is a final court where an honest and just judge presides. NOBODY CAN ESCAPE THE KARMIC LAW. Nakakatawa ka talaga, TEKKA. You are so dense. • Pagayam Observer, Have you experienced getting a 10 peso bill from somebody intentionally or unintentionally and the next day you lost 100 pesos? That is what we called Karma.

To understand it better, Karma in Sanskrit means deed or action. It includes actions that we do, not only through our body, but also through speech and mind. Karma is also referred to an echo of the past and is also said to create the future ( http://www.dadabhagwan.org/spiritual-media/spiritual-articles/definition-and-theory-of-karma?gclid=CMCruJfz-boCFWFS4god8hEApQ). Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind. The Scriptures has its own explanation of this, “Our actions, good or bad, have consequences. We reap the consequences of the deeds we have done” (Galatians 6:7). When we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success. Science also explains and proves that in every action it beget a reaction (Cause and effect).

Sometime, a robust business stands tall here in Bangued, later it closes down. Based on my research, the manager became immoral, having a multiple relationships; man and women alike. There the karma works in that particular case.

All the things that are happening in our life, it might be good or bad are results of our past actions.

  16. Brother P Abreniio, ‘ never allow negative things/ comments to spoil the good things that God blessed you’; let’s focuss on our fight to wake up these hypocrits and self centered leaders. Time is gold; the leaders of these families are now in their twilights. Let us help them in our modest way to listen to the crying call of our fellow Abrenians for change. Soon they will face and receive the their final judgement which money have no more power. God said ” What you have done to others, you have done to Me”. While everybody is a siinner, and the wages of sin is death, we have hope to escape the eternal hell. In Ezekiel 18: 31-32, The Lord said “Rid all sins committed, have a new heart and spirit. It is not My pleasure to see anyone to be destroyed. Repent, confess, have a new heart and live”

  18. Whether these politicians accept it or not, these money that they are spending comes from the people of Abra. Probably the reason why all goods that enter Abra are being taxed by the mayor of Bangued. Yeah, goods for business or personal . . . and that includes your balikbayan boxes which is charged at a hefty rate of 1500 pesos per box. You may way bill it but it will be the same, chargeable. The Sinalang check point lays golden eggs. You elected the mayor, so bear with it.

    • I’m sorry ITNEGNAK, but I never sold my soul to the devils. If you review my posts before the elections, I was advocating for a pass because there were no deserving candidates. I will not lend any kind of legitimacy to lesser evils because they are evil just the same. I hoped the voter turnout would be low so it may provide an unmistakeable sign that voters have gained maturity. Unfortunately, the misery and poverty of our people made them succumb to the lure of money. I cannot blame them. Be that as it may, I believe we are within our rights to demand honest and competent governance, nothing less. If our fight for honest and competent governance will the be the stick they would use to beat us with, so be it.

In other words, we still need to straighten our faith by constantly hearing His Word and embrace or act on it wholeheartedly. 31. very well said apo Pedro abrenio. I salute you for having the guts to have had to say sorry even when deep inside you, you knew you were right. The drum-beaters of the corrupt politicians in abra are thriving and really earning their keeps.Even here in a.com they thrive. They defend their masters like pitbulls. This is social media and we need not show proof of corruption. We don’t have to show papers or documents to prove that indeed there is corruption in abra. why not just look around you in abra. look at the road to tayum, for the nth time, they keep on excavating and replacing things up, but is there any politician who dared to see or investigate why is that happening, NOINE! Even a grade school child know that something wrong if he or she sees these things, but our politicians and their drum-beaters see nothing wrong. When you’re in power everybody sucks up to your ass. But few men keep their ground to moderate but are attacked by the bulldogs of the corrupt. i have kept distance from making comments here in a.com because I’m tired of seeing the reasons of these drum-beaters, if they have any reason at all. all they ask for are black and white. as apo pedro abrenio reiterated, nobody would dare collaborate because they are either afraid or they are in cahoots with the corrupt people.
as for the las vegas trip of our fellow abrenios, i see nothing wrong with them attending for as long as they use their own money and not from the coffers of government.for as long as their expenses did not come from our taxes we don’t have any right to impose upon them.
have you seen excerpts of the travel of the officials of bangued to macau and beijing china. Thiese was proudly posted by one of the new head of office of one of the local positions in bangued on facebook. The trip was made during the fight of pacquiao in macau. The barangay capt of zone 5 was there, the oic-municipal treasurer, the ME, the new mun registrar, one former mayor of bangued, consultant of bangued who lost in the may elections but seats as head of the accounting dept of bangued and many others. This we should ask, was this official or did they use their personal money to travel? This is now for the drum-beaters to defend.
decency should be shown by our leaders, we clothed them with power and they should show us the respect we deserve.
keep the fire burning apo pedro abrenio, eric shawn, tagamasid and other enlightened bloggers in a.com.

    • @MARIO BANG: Good if you see nothing wrong with their trip to Vegas as long as they spend their own money, doubtful. The governor left during the celebrations of the Abra Week for Peace. Its like the parents leaving their children to celebrate and party on their own family affair while the parents go and attend somebody else party. Nice father of the province indeed. The way I see it these provincial leaders do not really care for the people, just their own personal and financial interests.
