TAYUM, Abra – The long arm of the law has ﬁnally caught up with a 55-year-old father and his two sons for more than 100 counts of Statutory rape.
Sr. Supt. Benjamin Lusad, Abra police director, said that the vigilance of the members of the Abra Police Provincial Ofﬁce (PPO) has scored a major breakthrough on the arrest of the suspects, Saturnino Bacud Benabese, 55, and his two sons, Jerick Paul, 23, and his younger brother, Ronald James, 18, all residents of Poblacion, Tayum, Abra.
The arrest came by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Corpuz Alzate of the Regional Trial Court Branch 2.
According to Superintendent Mario Mayames, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations, the suspects
continuously and simultaneously abused the minor victim since 2011 until February 2013 in Brgy Garreta, Pidigan Abra. (Mar T. Supnad)
