I took this photo of The San Lorenzo Ruiz Church in Bangued back in March 2013. I remember thieves took some antique relics from this church a while back. I can’t remember if they ever recover them. I tried looking for any information about this church but I can’t find any. Maybe one of our readers have something to share about this historic church?

Posted by DR. LEO TUASON. | May 17, 2013, 5:24 amDoc, there is an archive on our local bangued parish who could share the history of that church. If my memory serve’s me right I heard them talking that the bricks are mix with lime and some kind of bark of tree to make it hard and sturdy.

Posted by SysOp | May 19, 2013, 3:46 amI have to say I have personally talked with Mrs. Guy just today because I am actually writing a book about Abra and she has told me the story and history of this church. I can not find any info about the church until someone from the archives of the Diocese of Bangued told me to look for her. I had goosebumps listening to her wonderful story. She is the last living descendant of the late Rosa Balitoc (her grandma’s sister) . BTW I landed in this page because i am also researching other info about this Campo Santo Chapel and it is scarse. And I can not tell yet the whole story until it is published in the book. 🙂

Sir, I have not read the local Bangued archive, but I know a bit of the HISTORY ….. how it all started ….
the money to built the CHURCH is donated by CERTAIN PERSON “ROSA ‘balitoc”… the rest of the
story can be provided by MRS. GUY or JUSTICE BERSAMIN.

Regarding the San Lorenzo Ruiz Church, I have an idea, we can conctact these two people I mentioned earlier.
