LA Trinidad, Benguet – An assault rifle, two automatic pistols, bullets and a list of supposed “paid voters” were seized from a convoy of an Abra town mayoralty bet’s husband on Tuesday afternoon in Bangued, the province’s capital town.
Isagani Joson, husband of Lagayan town mayoralty bet Berna Joson, and his companions Marjo Quibayan, Loreto Balocas and Leonardo Paradop, all from Lagayan are now facing violations of election rules and laws due to the seized items.
Police said that among the items seized from Joson’s group was a supposed list of voters that they have already bought.
Seized from the mayoralty bet’s husband and the three others were an M16 Armalite rifle, one caliber .45 with 7 bullets, one 9mm pistol, one box containing bullet for caliber .45 , one magazine, a brown shoulder bag containing P15,000 cash and the list of “paid voters.”
The Abra police said the convoy of the mayoralty bet’s husband was coming from nearby Pennarubia town heading towards Bangued when flagged down at the checkpoint.
