I was granted access to the New APH (worth more than P200 Million) by no less than Governor Takit Bersamin. He stressed during my interview with him in March that the hospital will be open this April, 2013. These pictures was taken on March, 10, 2013. That’s more than a month ago. The facilities may have been cleaned and rooms completed with beds and furnitures.
During my visit in March, the main (entrance) building was full of boxed items like furnitures, beds, medical accessories and even some medical supplies.
There were no signs what deparment I was in. I didn’t see medical equipment but they maybe stored at the ground floor of building B. There were a couple of beds that were setup in some rooms but it was still incomplete. In general the whole building is still bare.
I made sure to go around the building to look at the damaged rip-rap (there was some debate if this was fixed or not). So see it for yourself if it was repaired or not. In my personal opinion based on what I saw abck then, this buidling is far from finished. I’m posting these pictures and you be the judge. Is this worth P200 Million to you?

One of the projects that I was involve before was the Asian Hospital in Alabang and the new St Lukes Medical Center in Fort Bonifacio. This are worth billions of pesos. Look at how many story buildings are these. The construction cost for the St Lukes was about 500 million. About 8 billion pesos were used to purchased new modern equipments. So if I compared to this substandard APH. My staff would estimate around 25-50 million for the construction. And for the oxygen pipings and other medical equipment we would estimate around 25 million to 30 million pesos. From reliable source the contractor of this hospital is not accredited with DOH as contractor. So tell me where is the other half of this loan package went. KAASI KAYO PAY NGA KAILIAN NGA TAGA ABRA. MANILA, Sept. 29 — The Valenzuela local government will start the construction of an P82 million, 50-bed emergency and dialysis center hospital on a 4,000-square meter lot adjacent to the Valenzuela City Astrodome in Barangay Dalandanan starting next month.
Valenzuela Mayor Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian said the medical facility will be named the Valenzuela City West Emergency Hospital and Dialysis Center.
“This is a landmark project of the City’s health services. Building a bigger and better hospital is a strong symbol of our City’s progress,” he said.
The new facility which is slated to operate immediately after the eight-month construction period will take the place of the existing 20-bed Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital in Barangay Poblacion.
It will house new and more advanced medical equipment and will cater to local residents, especially to the City’s indigent patients. In addition to the standard hospital facilities, the dialysis center is set to offer services at a minimal fee to Valenzuelanos.
“The most strategic location for the new hospital must be accessible to residents of both districts,” Gatchalian added.
“And it shall be built on higher ground to ease the constituents from flooding compared to the current condition that the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital (VCEH) go through during rainy season,” he said.
According to the mayor, another hospital is also anticipated to rise in the eastern area of Valenzuela City to serve residents far from the city center. (PNA)
