  7. It is the time that the Abra people need to stand up and go together to the governor and demand for the power supply , what for to pay the bill and yet did not get what they want. If they want to fight among the mayor , the vice mayor of BOD or congress , that is their fucking problem and dun drag the innocent people and the poor people into it . Where is the stupid president stAnd , shame on him and shame on his government with so many corrupt people out there .

Popular sovereignty or the sovereignty of the people is the principle that the authority of the government is created and sustained by the consent of its people, who are the source of all political power. Ibig sabihin kung anuman ang ginagawa ng mga pulitiko tama man o mali kinukunsinti nyo sila.

Tama na, sobra na, kalusin na.

  9. so, what’s the best next [imminent/immediate] thing to do?

    – persuade the duly elected leaders of the province to come up with immediate but lasting solution …

    – people of abra should be one in persuading [ peacefully and lawfully ] … [take it to the streets, if, possible]

  12. Hahahaha.. Yun nga ang mahirap sa mga taga-Abra kasi ang dali dali nilang magsalita at magreklamo pero ano? Wala namang gumagalaw..

    Ang Tanong: BAKIT WALANG GUMAGALAW?

Posibleng Sagot: KASI NATATAKOT SILA PARA SA KANILANG MGA BUHAY!

Paano ba naman kasi eh mga kapwa Abreno din lang naman ang nagpapatay patayan…
Madaling nasisilaw ang iba sa mga pera ng mga pulitiko kaya madali silang nagpapauto.

    So, ano dapat gawin????

    • Thank you very much AK47, DISIPULO NI RIZAL and Arthur for your individual concern for us Abrenos. I acknowledge the fact that situation obtaining in Abra is a shame for all Abrenos, regardless of creed and station in life. I have been derided and criticized for writing about the truth. I have been told that I do not know what I am talking about. It matters little to me what else people may want to call me. I have always subscribed to the dictum, “Do good and you will be criticized for it, but do good anyway”.
I am a senior citizen and a taxpayer. I am not in the best of health. All my life, I have tried my very best to change whatever needs to be changed and whatever I can change for the better. I cannot leave this province the way I entered it. For the sake of my grandchildren, I want Abra to be a better place.
I have always believed in change through non-violent means. Because if I were to subscribe to the use of violence, then what will set me apart from the savages that rule our province? Each of us have our own task in effecting positive change. I, together with a growing number of Abrenos, have chosen the pen as our weapon. We know the task will not be easy.
Many of our people are gripped by fear and that is understandable because they have experienced being on the business end of automatic weapons. Our task is to educate them, and to try and instill in them that they will have to fight for their rights because it will not be given to them on a silver platter. You see, we can only take the horse to the water but we cannot force it to drink.
It is going to take time, but I believe we are getting there. If moral support from outside our province continue to come from freedom-loving people like you, then our task is made much easier. I wish you guys all the best and God bless.

        • Do you have an idea of what kind of revolution you are talking about? If you are implying armed-revolution do you think we will succeed without support from socialist/communist countries ? And are they really willing to support us in account of the on-going problem caused by the Spratly Islands?
I hope you meant other kind of revolutions, brother!

        • In the case of Ms. Gemma Barbero, I hope she would be able to withstand any kind of pressures for she had already build up her secret admirers here and abroad, otherwise she will just end up like crusading crook. Nevertheless, it makes me so proud as an Abrenian and humbles me as a man because of her courage to fight what is right. I hope this will serve as a good example for us to follow not only in politics but also to any challenges that we may face in life. If any of our law enforcements could not provide for her protection, at least our human rights organizations would be able to do so. That’s what they were being paid for through various donations and government subsidies.

    • In the interest of fairness we must give credit whenever it is due. There comes a time when a leader has to make hard decisions because the welfare of the majority is at stake. He cannot please everybody but he has to decide what is best for his people.
I have criticized Gov. Takit a couple of times in the past because I believe he was wrong then. But if I am to remain true to myself, this time, I believe, he did the right thing. I believe, this time, he acted like a true servant leader. Some may think that he was only saving the necks of the ABRECO management and the Board of Directors. Some may say he should not have used the calamity fund of the province. There is, however, a very compelling reason for doing so. It was the welfare and convenience of all Abrenos, myself included, he was taking care of. I cannot imagine the damage on the economy of the province, a total blackout would wreak? Moreover, a total blackout lasting for several days may also be the last nail of the coffin of ABRECO, with the finances of the cooperative already messed up as it were.
Who knows, this may yet be the wake-up call most of us in this benighted province are waiting for.Who knows if Gov. Takit will do himself one better by working his tail off in prosecuting all those responsible for this mess to the fullest extent of the law. If he does, he will have my vote. If he doesn’t, then we, the member consumers of ABRECO will make sure those responsible for the plunder of ABRECO funds will not go unpunished. Then we can also pass judgment on Gov. Takit. But until then, I believe that we ought to praise him for the quick restoration of power.

      • This all to show that he is not a lameduck governor after all. Contrary to popular beliefs, he is not “under de saya” for how could he have the guts now to do the right thing knowing that his personal safety might be at risk?
The more that I’ll be impressed if he let NEA or other applicable government agencies to be the over-all incharge of Abreco’s operation including the process of hiring its from top to bottom personnel. If we mix politics on this venture, I will guarantee that we will face same problem over and over again which majority abrenian consumers end up shedding tears from their eyes again.
