We lost count on how many disconnection notice to ABRECO. You can just fill in the blank. Aboitiz probably already has an automated system to generate the notice every month. Abrenians has even stopped commenting on this never ending issues.
I won’t blame you if you stop reading from here. But here’s a bit of details:
Date of Letter of Disconnection: January 10, 2013
Amount Owed: P15,328,247.00
Due date: January 18, 2013
Failure to Pay: Disconnection on January 22, 2013
In addition, ABRECO employee, Gemma Barbero filed a complaint agains ABRECO Management for non payment of employee benefits. Ms. Barbero was interviewed on radio. You can listen to the interview here http://www.yaraworx.com/tingguian/viewpage.php?page_id=53
Through this link you can also listen to some CDA representatives regarding their visit (what a waste) to ABRECO.
Stay tuned for our next episode next month.
Could the consumers request a copy of the CDA written Inspection Report if they indeed grasped the true picture of Abreco? Maybe they were just playing safe during the direct questioning conducted by the moderator which is not fair to judge their innocense right away.
In the case of Ms. Gemma Barbero, I hope she would be able to withstand any kind of pressures for she had already build up her secret admirers here and abroad, otherwise she will just end up like crusading crook. Nevertheless, it makes me so proud as an Abrenian and humbles me as a man because of her courage to fight what is right. I hope this will serve as a good example for us to follow not only in politics but also to any challenges that we may face in life. If any of our law enforcements could not provide for her protection, at least our human rights organizations would be able to do so. That’s what they were being paid for through various donations and government subsidies.
Ms Gemma Barbero is another Gabriela Silang, a legacy of bravery of Abrenians! Are there no Diego Silang in our midst? Wenno ti lallaki ti Abra ket natured laeng no adda tangdan wenno makasirip ti kuarta? She is a potential by 2016 election if her bravery is accompanied by dignity and wisdom.
May the good Lord bless you ms Barbero together with ms Joson in Lagayan.
Tsk tsk tsk! talaga nga kasda la kiteb daguiti management ti Abreco. Pati kuarta nga pagbayad ti benefits ti empleados tektekisenda! Ni man ngata apo ti takit ti pabasolendan. Awanen ti namnama ti Abra. Dua laeng ti pagpilian – Dominic and his allies or Luna and her sons. Ni apo takit ket pagawidendanton diay aremika. Pareho daguitoy dua nga parties. Uray baliktadem kada balinsuekem kada padataem wenno pagsikigem. . parehoda.
Kanayon la ketdin makauma da payen awan nga talaga ngata ti pagbayad dan naykalkag talagan ti abrecon baam tan ta maputdanen ta makalako kami ti candela kada gas.
Ay apo nga ABRECO sisasagana kayo kadi nga agserbi wenno sisasagana nga AGPERDI! perdi ta ulo yun apo!
There comes a time when you can’t just be a spectator. It is time to rouse people from a profound state of inertia, a people benumbed by hope constantly being turned into despair. There is no nice word for dishonesty. It is evil and it has brought ABRECO to bankruptcy.
The sick thing about the management and the members of the Board of Directors of ABRECO is the luxurious lifestyle they live while the rest of the employees starve and the member consumers suffer from blackouts and the never-ending threats of blackouts. Another infuriating thing them is their refusal to accept any blame for the mess ABRECO finds itself in,
They keep on singing the same old refrain, blaming others except themselves. Hypocricy lies not in concealment but in going out of one’s way to appear guiltless. To General Manager Jun Seares and the members of the Board of Directors of ABRECO, I say, “Sa inyo manggagaling and inyong ikagagaling at sa inyo rin magmumula ang inyong ikasasama”. Be men enough to own up to your mistakes. Just when will you guys grow up?
An autopsy of defunct, diseased and dysfunctional organizations invariably identifies one common cause of death. Like a malignant and terminal cancer that is insidious and often fatal, quality of leadership or better yet, the lack of quality of leadership seems to be the culprit – bad, ineffective, impotent, aimless and most of all DISHONEST leaders. The chairman of the Board of Directors, David Guzman even has the gall to run for mayor of Dolores? Are you kidding me?
By the way, GM Jun Seares can also be nasty and barbaric and a bully in every sense of the word. Go on and ask Mrs.Trinidad of DZPA, a courageous reporter who dared ask GM Jun Seares pointed questions about his collection of expensive cars. Mrs. Trinidad believed as I too did that “the pen is mightier than the sword”, until she found herself facing the business end of an automatic weapon. As she was sleeping with her family the folllowing night, a hale of bullets found their mark on the headboard of their bed.The PNP, the local government as well as the provincial government did not lift a finger to protect her. She was forced to leave Bangued. Neil Gaiman once said, “I have always felt that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent and threats, the final sanctuary of the terminally
inept” – words that ring loud and true today.
There is no pill, prayer or principle that will instantly undo the damage of many years. It requires the hard work of removal and replacement. If GM Seares and the members of the Board of Directors refuse to resign, the people may have to literally drag them out. It is one thing to recognize the grim realities obtaining at the ABRECO. It is another to accept them and be resigned to them. Surely this circus can not go on forever.
It will do well for GM Seares and the members of the Board of Directors to dwell on this famous Buddhist principle,”Nothing is permanent, actions have consequences and change is possible”.
to the general manager and members of the board of ABRECO, be man enough to face the problem..you owe an explanation to our fellow abrenios..
and to the employees of ABRECO, have the courage to speak out..
