BAGUIO CITY—Four Abra mayors surrendered their firearms on Saturday after the latest round of negotiations with the police, which was part of a strategy initiated by civic groups that vowed to remove the province from the list of election hot spots in next year’s elections.
Mayors Estelita Bersamina of Lacub, Wilma Gattud of Tubo, Esther Bernos of Danglas and Jaja Josefina Disono of Pilar turned over three shotguns, a rifle and two pistols, reports from the Cordillera police office showed.

Well, we’ll just hope that nothing happens in your respective jurisdiction like harassment and the like by the use of gun force on or during the election for us to further believe that indeed you are honest not hypocrites.
Voters vote with your conscience, don’t be afraid for it’s very convincing that the police force are really serious in protecting now your right of suffrage especially your dignity or precious life. Always exercise your faith in Him and by doing the right thing, you will never feel worries or fears anymore throughout the rest of your life.

Mga politiko maawa naman kayo sa mga botante, laban kayo ng patas, wag kayong manakot. kung di nyo makuha ang mga botante sa tingin o sa pera wag gamitin ang iyong kapit lalo na ang baril. Let them decide by their own. Don’t manipulate the voters. Maging tapat naman po kayo!
