Police chief downplays Abra gunfight report

THE Police Regional Office Cordillera (Procor) Chief Benjamin Magalong said the report on alleged firefight in Abra during the time of electric brownout early last week is exaggerated.

Earlier this week, known television and radio stations broadcast on the alleged firefight in the province that accordingly caused great fear to the community. The reports said the fight occurred on the long brownout experienced in Abra.

The brownout was attributed to the alleged power cut of the supplier for non–payment by the Abra Electric Cooperative for the accumulated consumed power.

As i have earlier stated in my comment to Attyjuli report about fear of police that power outages will aggravate the situation of peace in Abra, maybe, allowing the power cut off could be part of political tactic. Just look who comes out looking good. Or maybe, it was coincidence that the cut off will give a political side a chance to look good but obviously darkness during the power cut off is exploited for criminal activity.
