Lights Out in Abra

The scene is eerie. Reminds us how it was decades ago when there was no electricity to depend upon.

An eerie site. Reminds us how it was decades ago when there was no electricity to depend on.

My Immediate concerns –

1. Medical facilities that relies on electricity. I HOPE that they have back-up Electric Generators, to keep their patients alive;

2. Night schools or schools requiring electricity. I HOPE that they have back up source of power too in order to avoid the disruption of their daily operations; and

3. Local businesses and government offices that rely on electricity. I HOPE that they have a plan whenever there is a power outage.

MY other HOPES –

1. That the Php 50M (as reported in other sites) obligation of ABRECO to ABOITIZ POWER will be restructured and the MINIMUM payment will be met, so POWER WILL BE RESTORED IMMEDIATELY;

2. That LOCAL LGU’S stop pointing fingers to each other, but start sitting down and solve the problem of restoring power NOW; and

3. That the debt of ABRECO to ABOITIZ POWER will be paid in full soon. (THIS IS A MUST AS INDIVIDUAL CONSUMERS ARE PAYING AND ARE DOING THEIR PART!!!).

I ALSO HOPE THAT THIS POWER OUTAGE ISSUE IS NOT BEING USED AS A CAMPAIGN ELECTION TOOL, AT THE EXPENSE OF UNSUSPECTING ORDINARY PEOPLE OF ABRA!!!

  3. OMG light out in Abra is very disgusting news! How come this happens when in fact, every consumers are very much required to pay thier monthly dues on time or else their electric supply will be disconnected without any disconnection notice. I say so because I’ve tried many times to rush at the ABRECO office even 5 min. before 5:00 pm during my due dates because if I could not pay my monthly due on that day, automatically they will come and disconnect my electricity so I”m sure everybody is doing what i’ve done just to save my supply and yet, they were not able to pay their dues to the Aboitiz and Napocor? where did our payments gone?!? Bear in mind that you were not in that position where you are now without them putting you in throne….PUBLIC SERVICE not POCKET SERVICE PPPPLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE!!!! May puso at isipan pa ba Kayo???

    • Atty when you say debt moratorium, is it a payment of the interest only or a payment the debtor able to pay within a certain grace period .

      Posted by rolly | December 10, 2012, 8:38 pm
      • Tagalogin mo na or Ilokano ang sagot. Kakahiya pag wrong grammar! My suggestion is go over the cooperative code and check what can be done against these officers of Abreco!

      • Atty. juli I-ballaet ko man daytoy posting nga atoy maipanggep Iti makun-kuna nga debt moratorium base Iti pinansiyal ti korporasyon, nga Saan met unay nga maiyadayo ti kaipapananna no koma para Iti kooperatiba: Rolly, adre, “A debt moratorium is a delay in the payment of a debt or monitary obligation. A moratorium applies to individuals, businesses and municipalities and generally applies for a limited, specified amount of time. A debt moratorium gives the debtor the opportunity to start repaying the creditor at a future date with the length of time for repayment having been based on agreed conditions and terms between debtor and creditor. Debt moratorium is often the creditor’s last and only alternative to writing a bad debt from a specific debtor and which can sometimes result from a court order or court stipulation. It does not fix the debtor’s financial problem but simply provides the debtor time before the creditor takes alternative measure to collect the debt. Moratorium agreement can dictate anything from debt restructuring to debtor’s completely relinquishing assets to the creditor.” Hydroelectric power prospects and possibilities?

Sorry haan ko nga nakita nga sigud, I haven’t used the WordPress format for quite awhile and I was not getting any notifications of subsequent comments after my post. I’ll try to fix that later.

        May I add though that since the debt moratorium is basically a tool that the creditor uses in order to get his money back, the creditor then has a wide range of options including the payment of interest only OR the payment of the entire debt after the interruption/grace period/delay of the regular schedule of payment. Adda diay diskarte nan no ania ti kasayaatan nga tulag tapno mabayadan isuna.

      • Francis Dait: How do you know if it’s bad grammar or not? Are you one of the experts? If so, are you not suppose to show your professionalism instead of the other way around? If not, definitely you are one of us (unfortunate victims of poverty to pursue higher education) who supposedly sharing the dilemma instead of embarrassing each other, isn’t it? You are just exposing your own stupidity or short-mindedness because the true grammar experts will truly understand our predicament and just keep their mouth shut. Please just abide or observe the “golden rule” for our own sake who were not lucky enough or financially blessed to enroll in journalism or English major like the rich people does? I don’t think you are rich either for I don’t see any of your comment/s here that prove your expertise on the rules of grammar?
Don’t ever get affected Lavander and Francis for who knows who the hell you are? Just change your aka again and that’s all it takes instead of surrendering your self-esteem. My apologies…..

    • FOLKS, comments wittten regarding Electicity for the entire province has been a

      good ‘read’ for Abrenians, like me.

      My understanding regarding this Electric problem which leads to my belief that the

      ‘COMMON-SENSE’ must be applied strongly on this matter.

      There are two things to consider on this matter,namely….

      1. The number of SUBSCRIBERS to the Electricity, in each Community. There are 27 communities in the province. Assuming all subscribers pay their electric bills on time!!!

      2. Amount of money due to ELECTRIC provider—ABOITIZ POWER.

      Aside from the two things to consider…I’m here to help and not to ‘meddle’ on the business aspect of it.

      1. CEO or General Manager…Appointtee ? by the ‘incumbent or previous administration’

      2. GM or CEO gets his/her salary from the Government and must function as expected of him
      to serve the people he/she is sworn to serve.

      Posted by drunken master | December 12, 2012, 5:05 pm
      • @DRUNKEN MASTER no there isn’t any law regarding wrong grammar because if there was you would be the first one to be prosecuted. You can express yourself but do it wisely and intelligently. You seem to post all hate and nothing wise to add. You never heard of the old adage “if you don’t have anything positive to say then DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.”

        Like I said lay off the Basi or Gin Bilog or whatever it is you chose to drink. Positivity my drunk friend.
