DOLORES, Abra, Nov. 21 (PIA) — The barangays of Dolores town will soon have concrete farm-to-market roads with the P10 million Mudiit-Salucag Road project about to commence.
Mayor Robert Victor G. Seares Jr. said the project will not just be an ordinary and simple concrete pavement but with support structures that would assure its longevity.
The road-building project involves the concreting of 1,600 meters road stretch and 460 meters of stone masonry along its shoulders specifically on the sloppy portion of the concrete pavement, and the provision of a concrete canal lining of 1,000 meters long.
The project will be administered through the Department of Agriculture (DA). Procurement process is now on-going and actual construction will commence anytime soon.
The tobacco, rice, corn and vegetable farmers of Mudiit and its neighboring barangays will directly benefit from the road building project. Transport of school children and women will likewise be convenient as they too ply the same route in their daily chores.
The funding of the construction came from the funding of Senator Gregorio Honasan. (JDP/MTBB-PIA CAR, Abra)
