BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Police intelligence agents seized on Thursday guns from the lair of a known gun-for-hire in Langiden town, Abra but failed to corner their main target – Prudencio Britanico, Jr., wanted for a series of paid killings.
Policemen from the Provincial Intelligence branch, Provincial Public Safety Company of Abra, 24th Special Action Company of the Special Action Force and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU-14) seized two M16 Colt rifles, two short magazines and 28 rounds of live ammunition for M16 at the house of Britanico in Barangay Quilat, Langiden.
The policemen were supposed to serve the warrant against Britanico, Jr. alias Onyor and Robert Villastique alias Obeng dawn Thursday but both fled, Sr. Supt. Alex Rafael, Abra police director reported.
Rafael said Britanico, Jr., heads the Britanico group while Villastique is a member.
Both have also standing warrants of arrest for frustrated murder and attempted homicide ordered by Abra Regional Trial Court Branch 1 Judge Corpuz Cristi Alzate and Judge Redentor Valera, of the Municipal Trial Court of Bangued.
Although evading arrest, both are still being hunted, Rafael said.
