Bangued, Abra. Abra Electric Cooperative (ABRECO) was supposed to hold an election to fill the vacant seat for it’s Board of Directors yesterday September 15, 2012.
But according to a post on United for Abra FaceBook Group, about 10:30 in the morning, the election committee declared and passed a failure of election resolution.
Upon learning of the resolution, one of the candidate Ramon ‘Monang’ Purugganan, a former Mayor of Bangued, walked out of the proceeding.
Strangely, according to the same post, the election resumed later that day.
According to another source, this incident heightened tensions between Purugganan’s supporters and the other candidate Roger Luna’s. There were reported fist fights between the group.
